John Emmons

John grew up on a small farm in upstate NY and was the youngest of 5 children. His father was a rural letter carrier and farmer, and his mother was a school teacher. He earned a BS degree in chemical engineering from SUNY/Buffalo. John moved to Lancaster, PA in 1980 to work for Armstrong World Industries.  He worked for Armstrong for 19.5 years and has spent the last 40 years in manufacturing and operations management with 3 large corporations.

He has been married to Alison for 40 years and they have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren.  In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, taking care of the yard and long-distance running.  He has run over 100 marathons since 2004 (52 in 2009). He is active in his church (Bellevue Presbyterian in Gap) serving as a Deacon and coordinating their transportation ministry.  He is active in the Republican Party and is currently a candidate for the US Congress in the PA 6th District.  John is a patriot and loves our country. He sees it as the Light to the rest of the world.  He loves to share his knowledge of American history and the Constitution with people and has enjoyed teaching classes about it.
